My Scottish Retreats are small, peaceful weekends designed for quilters who want time away from the rush of everyday life. Each retreat is held in a quiet, characterful hotel within easy reach of the Scottish quilting community, with bright sewing rooms, delicious food, and plenty of space to bring your own projects.

Rather than being tied to one venue, my Scottish Retreats will run in a handful of carefully chosen hotels across Dumfries & Galloway and beyond. Each location has its own charm -woodland, coastline, lochs, or rolling countryside - but the retreat experience remains the same: creative, and full of quilty fun.

The Mabie Winter Quilt Retreat

Deposit of £100.00 on booking.

Join Tracy for The Mabie Winter Quilt Retreat at the beautiful Mabie House Hotel, (5 miles from Dumfries) on the 26th to 28th February 2027.

Bring your own projects to work on throughout the weekend, there will also be demos from Tracy on various sewing techniques.

There will be goodie bags for everyone, along with a chance to win an amazing prize throughout the weekend. Oliso have sponsored us.

The early bird price of the retreat is £525.00.

Prices after the early bird special are £550.00 each.

Deposit is non-refundable.

Remainder is due on 11th January 2027. Tracy will send you an invoice early January 2027 for you to pay the remainder.

Instalments are also available. Please contact us to discuss.

Please note that there are no ground floor bedrooms at Mabie House, and no lifts to the 1st and 2nd floors.

Here is a run down of the activities.

Arrive at 3.00 pm on Friday 26th February, and get settled into your bedrooms.

3.30 pm there will be a warm welcome in the classroom, with a Cream Tea ready and waiting for you.

Set up your sewing machines and work stations in our airy and bright class room.

Bring your own projects to work on throughout the weekend.

Friday evening after dinner we will have dinner in the dining room.

Saturday daytime we will sit and sew the projects that we bought with us.

Saturday evening will be another marvellous dinner.

Sunday we can carry on with our sewing and stitching, stopping for a bite of lunch.

3.00 pm on Sunday we will say our goodbyes after having a wonderful weekend of sewing and making new friends.

These retreats are designed to feel calm, cosy, and restorative, a chance to step away from the noise and settle into a weekend of creativity. Each venue is chosen with care, and I hope you’ll find a place that feels just right for you.

Cancellation Policy

All bookings are non refundable so please ensure you can make the date before making your booking.

If you are unable to attend the retreat, please let us know as soon as possible, you are welcome to send somebody else in your place.

Please let us know their contact details, (name, address, email and telephone number), so that arrangements can be made and confirmation details passed on.

We reserve the right to charge a late payment fee of £25.00 if the balance of the retreat is later than 10 days after the invoice.

Our right to cancel - in exceptional circumstances unfortunately we may have to cancel a retreat. If that does happen we will give you as much notice as possible, and see if we can accommodate you on an alternative date. If we are unable to do that we will refund you.

In the unfortunate event that you are unhappy with your stay with us, please notify us as soon as possible to ensure that we have the opportunity to rectify this for you, during the retreat.

To secure your place, the initial deposit of £99.00 is due at the point of booking. There are two payment options to pay the balance of your retreat. Option one is to pay in full, option two is to pay in one further instalment, these will be sent via invoice. Dates will be confirmed on each event. Please allow 48 working hours to receive this information via email.
